This is my super-simple-go-to-smoothie. It's packed packed packed with loads of great things....like potassium, vitamin C, B-12, B-6, D, magnesium, omegas...and, well, a ton of fiber. Not that I ever want to talk to anyone about their fiber intake. Ever.
I guess if have some texture issues, you could leave out the chia seeds but I happen to think that they are the best part. Similar to flax and sesame seeds in nutritional value, (yes cha-cha-cha) chia seeds are an ancient superfood consumed by the Aztecs for sustained energy. I won't drone on, just trust me, they are good for you. Just check you teeth before venturing out into public.
Like most smoothie people (?), I keep a ziplock bag of cut up frozen fruit in my freezer. Bananas seem to hold the most real estate because they are easy to slice up and freeze right before things turn ugly. The men in my house like to add protein powder to the shake.
1 c frozen bananas
1 c coconut milk
1 T chia seeds
Mix in a blender until smooth. Makes 1 drink.
